Primary Purpose of Position: This position will provide senior leadership, planning and direction in the design, development and implementation of the organization’s comprehensive marketing strategy and plan. Work involves working as an integral member of the Operations Leadership Team in helping to establish and execute the vision and mission of the agency.



Role and Responsibilities:


50% Operations Leadership:

  • Participate with the Operations Leadership Team in formulating policy for the organization.
  • Function as a key strategist and planner in helping to provide guidance for the agency in positioning itself for success in its mission.
  • Maintain current and comprehensive knowledge of industry initiatives to aid in the strategic decisions of the organization.
  • Maintains key contacts with local and state stakeholders to the organization and ensures overall, comprehensive strategy of effective customer service for designated audiences.
  • Leads the organizations efforts in effective and comprehensive agency branding and promotion.
  • Leads the interdepartmental coordination of agency marketing initiatives resulting in an ongoing, cohesive, targeted marketing approach.
  • Represents the organization, as assigned by the COO, to external individuals and groups within the community and at state level activities.


 40% Departmental Planning and Execution

  • Manages and directs the functions assigned to the department in a manner consistent with the direction and vision of the executive leadership team.
  • Provides direction and supervision to the communications and web/social media functions to ensure consistent promotion of messaging for the organization.
  • Maintains comprehensive departmental strategic plans and ensures compliance with completion of stated goals, benchmarks and deadlines.
  • Ensures ongoing, timely, and consistent connection to the organization’s customer groups to provide community leadership and engagement on mental health, substance abuse, and intellectual and developmental disability subject matters.
  • Leads collaborative efforts with community organizations to promote illness education, access to care, and demonstrate Partners’ positive community impact.
  • Works with other departmental leaders to ensure appropriate connection and relationship to all agency branding, messaging and promotion.


10% Other related projects and duties as assigned.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of public relations and communications programs and/or marketing campaign strategies
  • Comprehensive knowledge of strategic planning and agency positioning
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles of supervision, organization and administration
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead groups of people, formally and informally
  • Exceptional communication skills, both in writing and orally
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to speak contemporaneously on matters related to the organization in a way that is clear, succinct, and informative for the particular audience
  • Driven, energetic and able to generate excitement within the organization
  • Team oriented with exemplary abilities to connect with individuals in different departments and with varying roles within the workplace
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, make effective decisions and resolve problems involving complex and sensitive areas
  • Ability to recognize and sensitively manage cultural diversity issues and interactions with various and diverse members of staff and the community
  • Ability to plan, develop, implement effective programs and systems




Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of seven (7) years of directly related work experience which includes five (5) years of Executive level leadership.


Education and Experience Preferred:

Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of ten (10) years of related work experience. Significant track record of effective functioning at a senior leadership level.
